The Midlife Oasis
What is Coaching vs Counseling?
Which is best for you?
Coaching and counseling have similarities in support of personal growth and emotional wellbeing. But counseling can address medical mental health diagnoses and focuses on uncovering the client's past patterns and deep seated psychological issues. In contract, coaching is more future focused with goal setting for current problems and action steps with guided support to move you forward faster.

Most counselors do not understand midlife crisis and how it affects clients dealing with a newly unpredictable emotionally abusive spouse, and in this case, just talking about the problem and how it's causing you anxiety, doesn't help you solve the problem that keeps making you feel more confused and worse. Nor does it help explain to you how to predict your spouses erratic behavior so you can strategize solutions that will work in communicating with someone who will not respond in a normal manner.

Many clients of mine are doing both counseling and coaching simultaneously, while others have left counseling attempts frustrated and misunderstood.
Why The Oasis Program Works!

This program uses a coaching model specialized in helping people who are experiencing betrayal trauma resulting from an erratic spouse in a midlife crisis (emotional abuse component) who has blown up lives and marriage built over decades.
I help people understand the patterns of their MLC spouse’s behavior so they can find the clarity to get out of confusion faster and prevent missteps that make it worse. At the same time we work together to name and prioritize your wants and needs to create clear goals and start using actionable strategies to achieve real outcomes you decide on.
Rather than 1 hour a week counseling, this is a comprehensive guided action plan that gets you week-to-week results, leading you to meet your goals faster than possible going it alone or with counseling only. My clients have access to support and real-time problem solving help for ongoing crisis situations throughout the week between individual sessions as well.
Success Example (left image)
A client needing assistance in how to respond to her husband on a custody issue with their daughter reached out sharing his text to request assistance with the response. I helped her craft the wording that she relayed with him in real time so that she got the best response from him and could feel at peace knowing she got the clarity she needed and documentation to show her sincerity in court, without it blowing it up into an argument he was baiting.
Feeling the success of finally being able to get an effective calm response from him felt empowering and put her mind at ease knowing that this strategy for communicating with him WORKS!
